Hi Lionel

Under current Cypriot law, you need to be a registered member of the Cyprrus Real Estate Assocaition to sell property or to take commission on its sale. The penalties are fines of up to £2,000 or one year in prison.

Are you registered?

The Findings of the Court case were given on Monday; just to remind you the Cyprus Real Estate Association applied for an Injunction stopping BUYSELL from acting as an Estate Agent.

I am told the CREA were routed totally on a number of technicalities and the Injunction thrown out. BUYSELL are now seeking damages of around £500,000, for costs, and are considering taking action against certain witnesses (I cannot name names) for perjury!

I do not believe the CREA can raise £5,000, let alone £500,000, so we may end up with the legal requirement of all Estate Agents having to be registered with a bancrupt organisation, to comply with the law. The law is now in chaos!

All all the above is 'allegedly', of course, and this is merely my understanding of events!

I await newspaper reports with interest

Jesus Wept,

It's beginning to look like the 'good guys' are the ones with the best lawyers.

BuySell is a huge company. Did they really thought they could close it down so easily? Most estate agents should take example of BuySell. Just have a look at their website which is the best in the industry. :D
