we are moving to Larnaca next summer and i was wondering what the job situation was like.

It will depend upon your age, skills, experience and ability to speak Greek. Jobs are not easy to find for foreigners and pay is very low here.
If you are to be the breadwinner, you might like to research this thoroughly before taking the decision to move here.

thanks for that ..we are currently having greek lessons so hope to be able to get by.i may have to be an estate agent..???

LOL! An Estate Agent, yes, people with no skills can always become Estate Agents! Then they can have no friends either!

But seriously. do research before commiting yourself to a move here; I know many British people who have tried it and just not found suitable employment.

lana is right.
i have read in a newspaper yesterday that the semigoverment and goverment offices(ministries) are now open for foreigners to work as long as the job offered does not require from the person to take important decisions

well myself work for a tesco,s dc in thurruck.i have been a trainer for about 3 years and am currently taking my fork lift license also i am a qualified butcher.also my wife is currently a medical secretary..

open a butchers then, everyone loves lots of meat in cyprus.
