"trnc" has abandoned the pipe-dream of "Project of the Century" and will now be importing water by other means from Turkey.

All you have to do is open the containers and fill them up with water...

Does that mean you are lieing again?

No... just that you're gonna have to come up with a Plan B, some damage limitation of your own when the half-baked "Project of the Century" is quietly abandoned.

Yes... "blimps" are sounding better and better.

... far more realistic than "trnc"'s bird-brained scheme of "project of the century" with its 50 miles of plastic pipes adrift in the Med...

it may not be so bird brained, i am not so convinced it won't work, however much has been said over the years that is hopeful, too much of it is not even clear, as real, news. what is the disaster waiting if it does not work, never having been done, will leave the population in the north in a dire straight.

...it is not funny, and it is hard laugh, it is very serious, but quite right it seems a joke.

Everything can be done the question is at what COST for for building then for repairing.
This project has no chance to materialise
a)because of the cost
b)Because it did not even start. The procedure starts from the idea. The Turks builted a dam somewhere for local distribution of water in Turkey and got the idea of sending some to the occupied via pipes. They published their idea on a nice hollywod video. Then what???

THE PROCEDURE IS:
a)Ask established Engineering firms to work on the idea, provide drawings- calculations -design and all that stuff. It's like building a skyscraper, you need a firm of Architects and Engineers to design the whole thing. These firms have FULL RESPONSIBILITY in case the skyscraper collapses because of bad design.
NO SUCH FIRM HAS EVER MADE ANY DESIGNS for carrying water from Turkey to the occupied. There DOESN'T EXIST any Engineering firm that would ever take responsibility for a project that has no precedent.

b)After all the preliminary work with designs etc the Governments go into public Tenders for the contractor-the firm that will undertake to build the project, based on the design and drawings, and of course undertake it's future repairs and maintenance.
No such TENDERS were ever announced in Turkey and no contractor ever got such a contract.

Hence dear VP and Lordo, you better just digest it that mama Turka has once again taken you for a ride.
And to answer VPs question why we GCs are glad about it, I would like to clarify that it is NOT because we are against the REAL TCs improving their conditions of living. I have already told the reason in previous posts in this very topic. I am sure VP never noticed.
