How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Dude, don't be daft. Sampson did not want the Presidency. The coup was no success, they may have replaced the Government, but without the support of the population. Turkey did not have to move further than the beaches of Kyrenia to have the same effect. The rest is a betrayal, an invasion, and an illegal occupation.

...you would think that the north would be a paradise by now, that what is the south, the north would be better.

who is being daft rw. the greaks did not want the generals either and yet they stayed till the intervention. the gc ng was in the hands of greak army and they had all the weapons too. you are living in dream world if you think sampson was not going to last long.
once landed they were not going to stop just because sampson resigned rw. tcs were unde huge threat in the enclaves and there was no way they would allow such a threat to materialise again. tc state is easier to defend then village by village. i suppose you have not served in the military. leave peace and security to the military.

...the greatest threat was (and still is) the Turkish Army. They posed the same or worse threat from their position on the beach-head.

Your speculation is just that. I imagine if the "Turks" better represented themselves as Guarantors, a solution to the Problem would have been found long ago. But, "they" are the Problem, by making "Turkish" count, and what is "not Turkish", as such, an adversary where a hostile relation exists, if there must be one. (...water is an excellent example.)

Wasn't there any distribution cost in the north before the "arrival" of the Turkish water?

If there was, what's the problem which water is being distributed now? :?

Are all the dams in the north full with Turkish water already? If not, why is the Turkish water being dumped into the sea in Turkey instead of being piped to the north to fill up the dams?

clueless as usual. water system in trnc is fragmented. each village and town to their own. what is being built is an integrated system for the whole of trnc except the extreme bits naturally. as a cypriot if you are not ware of this situation i now doubt you ever lived in cyprus.
