Cyprus division 2

Postby UnderwaterMan » Mon Apr 22, 2013 8:22 pm

I was talking to my friend regarding the standard of football in the second division over in Cyprus. He seems to think that it's equivalent to Sunday league over in England. I said more conference level! What's your opinions ?

I think you both have an inflated sense of your football. Cyprus 2nd division is more like Football League One.

Really? I watch a lot of Cypriot football and I don't really think the standard is that high in the second division especially at some of the clubs near the bottom.

The fact that a Oldham Athletic YOUTH TEAM player got released then walked straight into a second division side in Cyprus speaks volumes alone!

So he went from Football League One to 2nd division in Cyprus! I don't see the volumes you do. :?

If he was 2-3 divisions above and beyond like you and your friend had thought he would've been too good for Cyprus division 1 but he didn't make division 1.

Who is this guy and which team did he join?

The fact that he never reached the first or even reserve team in the league one side. So for him to walk into a first team in division two. He no longer plays in Cyprus and back in England playing in the blue square north which is semi professional.

He is called Laquan Esdaille

No mention of him playing for a Cypriot team here...

http://www.stalybridgeceltic.co.uk/play ... code=ESDAL

Can't find anything else on him.
