Turkey should fully abide by decades old resolutions…

UN Security Council Resolution 353 (1974)
UN Security Council Resolution 541 (1983)

This would open the EU gates to Turkey, and set herself up for a good relationship with Cyprus in transporting her hydrocarbons and those of Israel.

Turkey has everything to win and nothing to lose by abiding by international law.

You’d think that so many “think tanks” in NATO would advise their fellow member Turkey in the obvious correct course of action to further their interests.

I recall the CATO institution think tank a few years ago putting out a paper stating that the ROC will be getting its way in a negotiated settlement of the Cyprus issue.. Its manifestating itself into that. When was the last time a Nato head called for the solution of the Cyprus problem?

Put in an application to become a full NATO member and sit back and laugh.

Turkey will threaten to veto, and then the US will jump down their throats and pressure Turkey to resolve the Cyprus Problem and allow the RoC to join.

The US always preferred for Cyprus to be a member!

...and if we had the foresight 50 years ago to join, willingly, Cyprus would be in one piece today.

Whenever I think about NATO, I can't help but think that the RoC has mismanaged the geostrategic geopolitics by pandering to non alligned and Soviet Block allies. When you think about it, you can only conclude that NATO would never allow the Soviet Union free passage in the Med and Cyprus was considered a strategic threat. We had a Coup backed by US and then we were invaded!

Stupid AKEL!

Makarios should have told them to get stuffed!

I had read that Makarios and JFK were very close friends as they studied together. Many missed opportunities which we never exploited for the RoC's benefit, and its security!
