Toothless EU tiger no grawl and definately no bite...after what Erdoğan said about and to the EU I would have thought the EU would have had the balls to stand up to her but obviously not, delay delay delay hoping something else will happen. Turkey gave them a door out yet they didnt take it, looks like Turkey can do what ever she wants and still not get kicked out..

I agree VP and I also think they want to put Turkey in to a position so that she makes the decision to end the accession talks with the EU.

The EU keeps delaying Turkey’s EU accession and yet the Turks keep coming back for more. Practically begging to open a new chapter. Where is Turkey's threat to tell the EU to ‘get lost’ if it’s not allowed to open its one miserable chapter in June? Instead, Turkey is relieved at being delayed again. Its bluster nothing but empty threats. How much humiliation can the Turks take?

All EU chapters are now effectively frozen. We are talking about whether to allow Turkey to open one chapter, maybe, if it gets a good progress report, in October. And all governments will have to agree. The EU has Turkey dangling on a string. Be a good boy, it’s saying, or you can’t join our club. Do you think Turkey has got the message now?

No, Erdogans Turkey has not got the message, nothing will change and they are delighted with the news.

The situation in Turkey will likely get worse between now and then and Erdogan will be going Bazerk come October.

If they don’t get it now they never will. Turkey kept delaying hoping the EU will give in to their demands. But the EU has given them the barest minimum - short of complete suspension. They promised Turkey this one chapter this week - Turkey was hoping for even more. But this one chapter has been pushed back four months and depends on Turkey’s good behaviour. The EU has made Turkey responsible for its accession. But it has promised nothing beyond this one chapter - and even that has conditions attached.

You people still dont get it, Turkey is delighted even more delay and no kicking out, she does and says what she wants and the EU havent got the balls to tell her to get lost, this speaks volumes for those who are intelligent and unbiased enough to understand.
