Let us hope that Cyprus never adopts the money making legal daylight robbery schemes currently in force in London.

Well, maybe the Cypriot Authorities and the Police should stop being as nice as they are, and start raising a lot of revenue like everywhere else.

Install heaps of Red Light Cameras, Speed Cameras, and fine every illegally parked vehicle by slugging them real hard.

Should provide the RoC with heaps of money.

We had speed and red light cameras but they got took out quite quick. According to one story this was because a prominent personage was caught on camera with someone next to them that might have been very embarrassing..

Lets hope Cyprus does not became a police state as the UK has, bloody cameras everywhere, an infringement of everyones privacy under the pretext of ...controlling traffic.

Money schemes to siphon off from motorists.

Cyprus must retain its free spirit and not become another Londonishtan !!

Yes, yes, yes enough with the traffic wardens and back to good advice ...

BBQs Baggie boy, BBQs... Amongst your first purchase get one of those Souvles with a decent non-CE compliant motor and smeeless, (skewers) ... the bigger the smeeless the better cos CYs make a connection between their length and the size of a certain part of the anatomy... so get them at least a yard long.

The big skewers (zmilles) are for souvla and the small ones for souvlaki. Two different things!

As for cleaning them get a plastic container (the type for storing toys etc) from a place like HomeCenter and fill it up with sand from a building site. Push all the dirty skewers in and out of the sand a few times and most of the grime disappears. Now they are ready to be washed with ease.

No no no. We have small smeeless (6 to 9 inches long ... memory here) and some larger ones, say 14 to 18 inches long ... and all those are used for pork/chicken kebabs and vegetables (onion, pepper, mushrooms, courgette etc). But then there are the really big smeeless which are the souvles which hold the big hunks of lamb or chicken.

It's the 14 to 18 inch ones which are the most problematic.
