I’ve read poor Apollon has to share the 250k with APOEL now… they must be furious!

2013–14 UEFA Europa League Group stage:

19-09-2013
Apollon - Trabzonspor
Maccabi Tel Aviv - APOEL

03-10-2013
Legia Warszawa - Apollon
APOEL - Eintracht Frankfurt

24-10-2013
Apollon - Lazio
Bordeaux - APOEL

07-11-2013
Lazio - Apollon
APOEL - Bordeaux

28-11-2013
Trabzonspor - Apollon
APOEL - Maccabi Tel Aviv

12-12-2013
Apollon - Legia Warszawa
Eintracht Frankfurt - APOEL

Some notes about our opponents:

Bordeaux is worse than Nice; they came 7th and 4th in the French league respectively.

Trabzonspor came 9th in the Turkish league so they’re pretty crap too.

Eintracht Frankfurt came 11th in the German league so they’re not exactly a Bayern.

Maccabi Tel Aviv came first in the Israeli league.

Legia Warsaw came first in the Polish league.

Lazio came 7th in the Italian league so we’re not looking at anything special here either.

All teams, except Lazio, have nothing special in their rosters. Maccabi's star player is former Anorthosis's player Barak Yitzhaki, while Legia's key defender is Cyprus international Dossa Junior.

On the other hand, Lazio has superstars of the likes of Klose (Germany NT), Floccari & Marchetti (Italy NT), Hernanes (Brazil NT) and many more! Forget getting any points from them.

I was thinking the other day that Maribor will now need €600,000 to win their group stage in the EL. That’s €100,000 per referee for 6 games! 8)

So I wonder if the Slovenians have started raising funds for this or do they want a Cyprus bank to lend it to them?
