It also doesn't explain how killing and ethnically cleansing innocent people, including the elderly, women and children, was a way to "save" Turkish Cypriots.

How is the systematic rape of hundreds of Greek Cypriot women and young girls a part of Turkey ‘merely exercising its guarantor rights'? Please explain it to us!

You also exaggerate about the extent of the intercommunal conflict in the years leading up to the invasion. You claim hundreds were killed but the truth is that the official figures are that THREE TCs were killed in the six years prior to 1974. TCs claim around 30. That is hardly evidence of genocidal intentions. The truth is that by 1968, the intercommunal violence was over.

You overlook the fact that the vast majority of the Cypriot population was against the coup, people were fighting against the plotters and Makarios was at the UN criticising their actions. So how is killing and ethnically cleansing the general Greek Cypriot population a justifiable response to the coup and Sampson?

The truth is that during the entire five days of the coup not a single Turkish Cypriot was killed, and that was enough time to kill plenty of them if that had been their aim. You have no facts to base your position on. They Hate the Turks so much that, with all the islands granted to them as a gift by allied powers, Turkey now attracts almost twice as many tourists as Greece does (only 30 years ago Greece had more tourists coming in than Turkey). The Turks are so much disliked and hated by the Greeks that they are banding backwards and licking arse of the Turkish Tourists going to Greece, looking at them as potential saviors of their ailing economy!
