We stayed a few days in Neo Chorio in a dev of lovely hotel apartments 2-3 years ago.

Smashing place with a big pool. Friendliest and most welcoming of owners and the company of the other guests (mostly CYs) around the bar was great.

Can't remember the name of the place... just on the outskirts of the village on the road up from Latchi/Polis.

Yes, NeoChorio is well developed now (as are most places in Cyprus) but as you have alluded, a lot of the developments are still owned by Cypriots (apc and paph haven't a clue) and rented out to Brits etc.

As I am a permanent resident here and can name most landowners in the Polis/Latchi area I think I can pass comment .As well as living there and working there (not living off Dad's money/land) .....Why is there a block of flats in Neo Choria that is pure greed ...build something in keeping with the area not a block of fucking flats .........

People build according to their needs and means. It's capitalism. You're just sore for some personal deficiencies and accusing me of living off my land shows how much you know ... I haven't made a penny off my land as it's being used by a poorer person in the village for nothing. Idiot!

Blame for what, idiot? That Paphos has gone from strength to strength? Similar to what we built-up in Kyrenia? Idiots like you will lose us this like they lost us the wealthy north ... through jealousy! You complain that Cypriots sell land and then you complain when I tell you they hang on to it!

I never said that developments are not owned by Cypriots.

But once again, it is the big Cypriot Developers that develop land sold off to them, and the Brits, Russian and now the Chinese expats.

Many Cypriots own land, but unfortunately, many Cypriots sold very expansive horafia to the developers who in turn sold off to Brit, Russian, and Chinese expats.

I really do feel that the Brits get a lot of bad press for no reason. The Brits are no risk to the Cypriot Culture and Cypriot Way of Life which is good. However, Cyprus does face numerous challenges from the Russian Pontians and probably face some challenges from the Chinese and Russians.

The Brits are usually very open minded.

I'm not embarrassed by any of my family - most are well-to-do professionals - but I removed some stuff which should go into a PM and not on the forum. All my family still own most of their land, grow stuff and sell them to Co-Ops. We personally had a lot of land expropriated by the RoC - hallali tou. I hate arguing with you because I feel sorry for you as you sound like you have nothing (and I am truly sorry) and are now filled with bitterness against those Cypriots that had something. If they sold, it was theirs to do with as they wished. If you don't like the style of their buildings, then buy some land and build your own.

I don't have ANY bad feelings towards any of my fellow Cypriots. Rich or poor! I love them all and wish them all prosperity - including you (if you are Cypriot).

you are right! Many Cypriots did sell their inheritance unfortunately. Easy money.

Cypriots can be the worst kind of people when they get a sniff of money. They are not well heeled enough to not let it get to their heads.

But the demand was always there. What is interesting is selling land for profit and then moaning about the Brits, like Oracle does.

I bang on about Brits because I love Cypriots and I want Cypriots to have more and to have the freedom to do what they *want* without idiot foreigners telling them they are doing it ALL wrong!
