Any free Programming School in Limassol?

Postby metalbreathe » Wed Feb 12, 2014 12:12 am

Hello everyone,
10 years ago when i was a teen, I was aware of a free programming school for all ages. This may be a great experience for my kid whom seems rather interested how programs works. And he is trying to mess with C#.
I THINK it was some sort of summer school or something. Are those schools still up? I mean, are they still active/even exist?
Its not due to be stingie, but since Im not in Cyprus yet = no job, it will be a nice thing to do for him. :)

Please let me know if anyone is aware of that sort of school/summer school

Thank you in advance

Best Regards
Andreas

Try to learn them through webinars, etc. Could be a better option.

For Online I have a lot of useful websites. I am more interested in teacher/human interaction. Which my kid can ask questions and solve problems with his teacher etc. I think it will help him find it more interesting if there is someone explaining in person, than watching videos or code online (such as codeacademy) and get frustrated if he end up in a problem who cannot solve, and have no one to ask.
He could I suppose use uncle google in that matter.... but still.

By the way, thank you for the link. I bookmarked it :)

Anything free would probably be very basic and I doubt it would be specific for C#. Books and the internet is the best way to learn such things for a low cost. If your son has questions he can always ask in places such as http://stackoverflow.com/ Here are a few resources in addition to codeacademy:

https://www.khanacademy.org/cs (free)
http://www.lynda.com/trial (7 days free trial)
https://teamtreehouse.com/subscribe/plans?trial=yes (14 days free trial)
http://go.codeschool.com/XUaw2w (2 days free trial)
https://tutsplus.com/
https://www.udacity.com/ (free)
https://www.edx.org/ (free)
http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/electrical-e ... r-science/ (free)
http://webcast.berkeley.edu/ (free)
