Yeah, i thought that was appalling thing to say. At least he gave the keys back to our church.

The patronising "key-giving" was a propaganda stunt to pave the way for their promotion of that shitty band which is slated to play there. That this perverted pseudo-holy man further insulted Cyprus with his proclamation of political allegiance to Turkey should be highlighted by our government in the EU.

Do you think the EU officials may have a laugh at our expense?

Yes, that's quite possible but.

We turned this into an ethnic issue because of your Greeko Enosis Turko Taksim bullshit!

We did not, the Turks and the TC's did, otherwise we would not be devolving in order to just find a just solution

Yes the man still have out of kindness and it is a small step.

This is not so kind when you look at whats going on behind him.

Max, these imams/muftis are nothing more than Turkish civil servants - paid by the Turkish state. Of course he is schooled to use Turkish propaganda wherever possible. It says a lot about the Greek Orthodox priests that they turned the other cheek.

The idiots are those who think the Turks have a place in Cyprus. British colonialism brought them here.

Oh yes, I reckon you may be right.

British Colonialism brought them to Cyprus way back in 1571. They also made many GCs convert as well!

My my, you intrigue me!

Don't worry about devolving Max!

We need to evolve and catch up with the rest of the world and it starts with putting an end to this Greeko Turkish crap!

I don't know Max.

Both sides need inspirational leaders. A JFK or Nelson Mandela.

Personally, I think there is not much chance of that.

that's just one person from one side. for example, Nelson Mandela fought against apartheid for decades. Like the GC's are doing but at the same time fighting an occupation as well. This is just to bring Turkey and the TC's back to center. They are extreme right and living in a parallel universe at the moment.

They can always go to Turkey, its just a stones throw away and right up their street. No problems.

At some point everyone is just going to have to get serious.

Saying they can always go to Turkey is just a cop out. They may say that you can go to Greece! Then what?

I dont think the GC going to Greece is valid but I think the TC's going back to Turkey is. If the TC's disagree with me then they have to come back to centre and demand the end of the occupation.
