You are the moron ... they are not called "Indians" anymore, they are called Native Americans because those Americans of European descent are obviously NOT native.

You pleaying with words because in the grand scheme of things it doesnt matter they are both natives and have the same rights, so so'tos Turkish Cypriots have just as much rights to Cyprus as Greek Cypriots....and the world knows this, thats why we are consulted about and future solutions and have 50% weight.

...if there existed a Greek Constituency, i would agree with you, it is not what "you" are asking for.

...speaking of America, and Austalia, one Flag flies higher, and many flags fly within.

Firstly they are not both natives as the naming clearly indicates. Secondly they have equal rights as individuals not as groups. I have no problem with equality of individuals as in other countries... but that is not what you want :( You have 0% weight because you do not participate in the Republic of Cyprus and the world doesn't recognize your pseudo state. If you want anything more than 0% you have two options: participate in the Cyprus elections as individuals ... like many TCs do for the EU elections now... or the only thing you have legally right to demand is the return to 1960 agreements. You are not entitled to anything more without our approval.

VP and Sotos:

You are both fucking stupid!

Indigenousness is exclusivity to having had first contact with a land.

So as you can (hopefully) gather, no two people could’ve had first contact with a land simultaneously!

It’s also pretty obvious that neither the Ottomans nor any Greeks could’ve had first contact with the island of Cyprus given that unearthed ancient Cypriot settlements go back to at least 8,000BC that we know of.

So now is a good time to take your computers back to the shop and tell them you’re too stupid to own one!

According to your definition nobody can be indigenous. Humans exist on earth for more or less 100.000 years and at that time there were NO ethnicities. The Greeks are the FIRST ETHNIC GROUP in Cyprus... the few others that came before the Greeks were various people different to each other who just had some small settlements in Cyprus for a a period of time. This is what those unearthed settlements show.

Looks like you are the one whos looking silly here, how is it that no one can be indigenous or native? if the population evloves and people intermarry have children generation after generation on the same land then these people are native to that country/land/island just as TCs and GCs are to Cyprus, what Sotos is trying to say is that we not indigeous to this island because we arrived later, I dispute this 100% look at it from this angle if Sotos great grandparents on his mothers side were TC does that make him less native and if mine were Gc does that make me more native? The rule of thumb here is anyone whos ancestory on this island goes back hundreds of years is in fact indigenous....but this is only a label it does not give one citizen anymore rights over another citizen of that country unless stipulated in a signed constitution.

And where did your imaginary "Greeks" come from? Greek-Narnia? Where is it on the map?

And how did this imaginary group of yours who hail from an imaginary country, acquire a "ethnicity"?

Did they go to the "Ethnicity Passport" shop and purchase one?

You mean those REAL but LESSER people (native Cypriots) who are not important enough to earn your recognition because you're happier living on cloud Greek-Anal?

Daft fool!

What we are seeing here readers is two uneducated fools (read sheep) manufacturing things in their heads as they go along, each according to his puppeteer! (Greece or Turkey)

The first sheep thinks that Cyprus was first inhabited by mythical “Greek characters” most likely with olive branches on their heads like the ones in the movies, and the second goes by the new-found… “Last come last native!” rule which must be another Ottoman invention!

These disgusting foreigners who have the audacity to try and refashion the meaning of “Cypriot”, have no respect for our country, no respect for our ancients, no respect for our Cypriot culture and certainly no respect for us!

Neither of these two clowns have a place in our country that's for sure, and we should not rest until we completely eliminate all this foreign garbage from it.

GR, you are an idiot living in the wonderland... you imagine thinks and then you convince yourself that they are real  The Greeks came to Cyprus in the exact same way as they went to all other Greek islands. Now tell me what is your "Cypriot culture" which is so different from Greek culture... and which links you to those prehistoric people you talk about. Clue: The Chirokitians didn't make Halloumi  Also tell me what is your non-Greek Cypriot language. And write me your national anthem. There was never such thing as Cypriot ethnicity. The prehistoric people you talk about were different people who came from different places... some of them might have been from middle east, others maybe blacks from Africa...nobody knows exactly, and we have nothing in common with their culture or language. The majority of the people in Cyprus are Greek and this is even written in our constitution:

http://www.presidency.gov.cy/presidency/presidency.nsf/all/1003AEDD83EED9C7C225756F0023C6AD/$file/CY_Constitution.pdf?openelement

Article 1
The State of Cyprus is an independent and sovereign Republic with a
presidential regime, the President being Greek and the Vice-President
being Turk elected by the Greek and the Turkish Communities of
Cyprus respectively as hereinafter in this Constitution provided.

Article 2.1
the Greek Community comprises all citizens of the Republic who are
of Greek origin and whose mother tongue is Greek or who share the
Greek cultural traditions or who are members of the Greek-Orthodox
Church;

...so, what happens when someone Irish spends their life in Cyprus, whose children marry, and have children themselves, as Cypriots; who is "Greek"?

are their special rights for Greeks? what are their rights, those not Greek, as far as being Greek goes, if they live and contribute in "the Greek Community", because by definition they are not Greek?

...clearly it appears Greek, Cyprus, because their numbers within the population of Cypriots are overwhelming; to be Cypriot, does it really matter what your ethnic origins are? even if by these facts it is a Greek state, i would guess far less of them would prefer to be called Cypriot Greeks, rather than Greek Cypriots.

...what we need is a Greek Constituency, within a Republic, to sustain (and promote) Greekness, and if we as Cypriots choose as such, to define a set of Constituencies, Cypriotness would be this willingness to defend each other.
