There is a Flag zan, it is ours, and for it to have any value we must seek to make it an option for those of us who would rather it, than the Greek Flag, or a Turkish Flag, as an identity worth defending.

...sorry zan, I never understood the logic of taking a side against "Greeks" by being "Turkish" (or vice versa), I think you can do just as much harm to "them" by being Cypriot, why would anyone want to be "Turkish" (or "Greek" for that matter)?

Exactly.......you see capitulation in the form of Kiks as the only TC  for the umpteenth time... There is NI " Cypriot" to talk of. They never evolved and you cannot pull them out of a hat. Your government is not mine. Your government is hostile to mine. Your icons are hostile to mine. Have you recommended the tearing down of Makarios' statue in your correspondence to your government? Have you recommended that there be no more EOKA day celebrations? What statues do we erect for this fictitious " Cypriot" to admire? What language for the "Cypriot" television? Come now  you are talking to an adult here not a child.

dude the only statue thingy that needs to be torn down are the ridiculous flag thingies that are scars on the mountains. and I see lot's of TCs as you call them who would agree to that, simply because they serve no purpose but to mock; there is no dignity in that. I think you are unwilling to take the challenge, to show tolerance, and to stop so much bitterness from clouding what you say. you are Turkish, granted, (and so what) are you a "Turk" I don't know, but if you are Cypriot you are not exactly like me, and I don't know what your icons are personally, and frankly I don't give a damn if some others are offensive to you, (not that you care that they are offensive to me), as though I should do something about it, for you. you should try writing, if you want to judge me, then see how I support you or not, I don't judge so quickly it seems. it helps no one when you dismiss the fact that there is a Cyprus to save, and then to fight the "Greeks" you fight for its demise, to ensure this as a self fulfilling prophesy, as though I must be "Greek", like Kiks, because we do not fit in to the dogma that has been so well established as a fight between an overwhelming "Greek" population out to force the assimilation of those "Turks" that are willing to comply.

...Is that what you want to be good at, being a "Turk", where you could care less about the world, and that your existence is justified because of the Hatred you can generate against "Greeks''? not so easy for you I suppose, what is not "Turkish" is "Greek", and to be living a good part of your life in English. but as Cypriots, even for the short while where we had this notion, one Cyprus, it is still better than what we have, as it is today. I think it is safe to say that "Greekness" and "Turkishness" have failed, but Cyprus, and Cypriots, from their folly will rise, again.

There is some bitterness but not enough to cloud. I only look at reality. The flag on the mountain is not to mock but to remind you and the world, as in your tourists, that we are still there and under siege. Makarios' statue is a scar on my life but as you say, you don't care. I am not a gambling man so a challenge is the same to me when I know I will lose in the end. I would rather put my money into something that will yield maybe a little less but is guaranteed. In the long run it might even yield something more. Cyprus broke in 1963. You can stick it back together but still the crack (scar) will be visible. There is no one people to save and there is no one language in which to tell it to people. No matter how many times you say it. My TC identity overlaps with Turks yes. We have a the same icons and heroes and a common language. I sit and watch Turkish television and listen to Turkish radio. Does that make me bad. I cannot do the same with GC or Greek TV and radio. It something that could have been but the reality is it didn't happen. With two states I can still have what u need and you the same. Not through hate but through a realisation.

GR jumped the gun when he said: "Your post only reveals that you didn’t really understand what was being proposed for Cyprus".

I have posted over and over that BBF is partition by a polite name and at best it will result in a state where the TCs rule the north and are partners in the south. And in the distance is the spectre of Turkey's long term strategic goal to take over the whole island.
