For those who remember details and lived through the events of 74, this guy may have a point in Makarios wanting to go through with the Americancanadian plan but it's failure was put on Denktash. This guy doesn't mention whether turkey accepted the plan but rather goes on to say that the soviets put their hand in to spoil..

Take a look at how many high level agreements you guys turned down to our one. The one that was just about to be signed and Makarios dies. Wonder if he was radio active at his death. Russian style
