Right... :? so err... what happens on a bad day... like what's your record defeat 25-0? :?

on the way things look, Spain might get run over by this Australian Team and they got nothing to be afraid of.

Yeah, I've just heard that Spain has bribed your manager big-bucks so you don't hurt them!

On a good day, Australia is ranked in the top 10 in the world and nearly wins U17 and U21 World Cups.

They have won the FIFA World Confederations Cup 4 times (1980, 1996, 2000 and 2004) and beaten South American Champions and Euro Cup Champions to do that.

Mark my words Get Real, the Aussie team has won some really serious international honours as you would expect from any international Australian Team. Tough as nails and always they punch well above their weight.

Didn't they just get hammered by Chile 3-1? :?

There's really no competition to European and South American teams.

Did you watch the game? We got the same European commentary as you and they Australian team did outplay them for a good 45 to 60 minutes and the Chili were very lucky because Australia could have easily scored 3 goals and they were unlucky to not be awarded a clear penalty.

It's a very young team. The Captain is 24 years old. Australia is the youngest team in the tournament. lol

They are a pretty solid team with excellent prospects. Oh, and most of the Australian Team is actually European. Most of the starting 11 play for top european clubs apart from Cahill who scored the goal.

Do you remember recent stars like Viduka, Kewell, Farina, Bosnich and Lucas Neill. Kewell was top scorer in the EPL for a couple of years running when he was Leeds United top striker. At one time he was worth about $60 Million. What's the total worth of Apoel? Fuck all! Lunch money for an Australian A League club!

Furthermore, Chili's 3rd goal came in the 92nd minute after Australia was pressing hard in attack, leaving the defence open to counter attack. They were trying to win as I would expect from them.

Put it this way! Australian Players are sort after so yes their technical ability and competitiveness is quite good.

Name a club Australian players have not played for. Talent scouts are always looking for Australian Players to go the EPL, Seria A, Bundesliga, Dutch League, Belgium you name it.

And yes those players were European stars. Kewell and farina were well known and top scorers in the EPL and Dutch First Divisions. Everyone in Europe knows those names.

Don't know what you guys are on about because there is no way Cyprus could beat Australia in a million tears. Sorry!

Oh btw DT. Cyprus had one Australian striker in the First Division for a short time in his twilight of his career. He played for Anorthosis.

His name, Eddie Krincevic.

Eddie, was a striker for Anderlecht for 3 seasons and in that time scored 54 goals. Previous to that, he was a player for Dynamo Zagreb, Club Brugge and FC Liege.

He was a top striker. For Australia he was capped 35 times and scored 17 goals. He was not the most lethal triker compared to Viduka, Farina, and Kewell.

And who can forget Graeme Mitchell and Craigh Johnstone who played for Liverpool.

Australia's goalscorer, Cahill, used to play in England's greatest football club, but these days he has to make a living in the unimportant MLS.

Cahill, just like many other big players have gone to the MLS (New York Red Bulls because they are paying him millions of dollars.

The A League, J League and MLS are attracting some very big names because the teams have very big budgets. They are chasing the money.

You've got players like Messi playing in the A League these days.

It was no loss. The Australian Team has fielded a very young side and building a new nucleus of players for the future. It's going to take a while for this team to mature. They are the youngest team in the tournament.

And, they were extremely unlucky to not walk away with the draw. So overall, the soccer authorities see a lot of promise and are not disappointed. The media has praised the Australian Performance.

The Aussies had a very good game and Chile were looking very shaky. A more experienced Australian Team with Lucas Neill, and Kewell would have defeated them. But the Aussies are looking long term here.

BTW, I think Cahill (another big star) is the oldest player in the team. He played 224 games for Everton (he's not perfect I guess). He is now at his twilight. The Captain is 24 and hasn't played a lot of games but is brilliant.

Cahill started playing for Greek Club Sydney Olympic.

Greek coach Ange Postecoglu is doing a very good job. He has made a lot of changes to the team and really shaken things up.
