Oh yes, I think there is a mesjid there that was once connected to the Turkish hospital, rather than being a full-blown mosque.

That could explain the 'Green' mosque statement.
Might find an old picture of it somewhere on the net.

This is the old Turkish hospital, now the offices of the Guardianship of Turkish Cypriot property, although you cannot see the mesjid in this picture.
