Cyprus-Forum Redesign and New Features

Postby Admin » Sun Dec 04, 2005 7:07 pm

The Cyprus-Forum has been online non-stop for more than three years. A lot has changed since September 2002 and the time came for a major upgrade and redesign.

I hope you like the new design or at least that you can get used of it.

Whats new:

Latest Forum Topics
The top scroller displays the topics with the newest posts. This way you can know the latest developments in the Forum with just a glance. This may also help you to spot threads that interest you in sections of the forum you don't usually visit.

Latest Cyprus News
The bottom scroller displays the latest news about Cyprus. The Forum checks every hour for fresh news and displays the latest ones to you. The news are taken from Cyprus Mail, Cyprus Weekly, Financial Mirror and various international online newspapers and news agencies.

Add image to post
You can now easily add images to your posts by clicking on the "Add image to post" link. Please do not abuse this feature.

More Avatars
Our avatar gallery is now enriched with even more avatars for you to choose from.

RSS Feeds
The Cyprus-Forum now provides RSS 2.0 and an Atom 0.3 Feeds. The RSS Feeds can be found here

Alternative "Light" Style
The new design is heavier in kilobytes and might be slow on some users with slow dial-up connections. For this reason an alternative "light" style is provided that removes many of the images and makes the Forum faster to download. You can change to this light style from your profile.

These are the most important additions to the Forum. You may notice some less important ones while browsing.

If you have any suggestions on how we can further improve the Cyprus-Forum please make a post in the Suggestions and Feedback section.

Thanks
