BTW, it was nice listening to Lazaros Mavros commenting during the parade. A good journalist, which seems to be very very rare these days. He was a commando himself back in the day... :)

no it's not a Greek Think.

It's a British Thing.

Now notice the insignia on the Greek Naval Hat. It's exactly the same as the British but without the Crown since removing the monarchy. It's also the same as Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

The Greek Navy and consequently the CNG adopted all British Ranks, drill and traditions when they created the force.

That's British all the way through.
