This problem is a yearly phenomenon.
Every friggin year the same story... parts of Nicosia get flooded.
They need to implement an effective storm drainage system.

Yes, perhaps we can get some consultants to come over from London. Maybe they can teach us how leaves on tracks stop trains, snowflakes stop buses and light drizzles make cabs disappear.

Although Cyprus has an acute water shortage problem, at the same time it suffers
frequent and recurring urban flooding problems. Institutional analysis has highlighted
the existence of gaps (and overlaps) in the management of urban storm water
drainage.
