48% Cypriot
43% more Cypriot than Greek/equally Cypriot and Greek,
9% Greek/more Greek than Cypriot.

Responds from the Turkish Cypriot side were:
88% Cypriot,
6% equally Cypriot and Turk,
6% Turk/Turkish Cypriot.

Asked how useful it would be to have a common Cypriot identity, Greek Cypriots replied:

People, this is a PROBLEM... and why? Look at the Answers to being "Cypriot", the Greek Cypriots say 48% and the Turkish Cypriots say 88% !
The Turkish Cypriots are more Cypriot than the Greek Cypriots, it shows that their still too much Nationalism in the Greek Cypriot community. The percentages for both communities should be more than or around 90%, but only the Turkish Cypriots understanding what it means to be Cypriot means BAD NEWS for all of Cyprus, it means division, it means partition. Occording to the poll, Turkish Cypriots feel alomost more Cypriot than Greek Cypriots by almost DOUBLE! We need the Greek Cypriots to put Cyprus 1st. I think it's very, very sad that Greek Cypriots couldn't even make it over 50%...

Please can you wake theses people up. They will bring harm to Cyprus with this frame of mind. Harm, meaning: Taksim.

Who harm Cyprus are the Turkish invaders. The people of Cyprus have been Greek for 1000s of years and now you demand from us to abandon our ethnicity (and many other things you have no right to demand from the native people) threatening us with stealing our lands if we do not obey. "Cypriot" is an identity... but it is not an ethnic identity... there has never been such an ethnicity.

There’s no such thing as “Greek for thousands of years”. It’s daft!

In fact there’s no such thing anywhere in the world and you can replace the word “Greek” with any other label you wish.

You say you’re from Limassol… have a look around you in Limassol… one third is now RUSSIAN and you're fast asleep in Greek mythology!

He who controls the money controls the ETHNICITY and everything else you may care to mention, and soon you will all forget “Greek” and start looking for associations with Russia and Moscow.

When the Greeks, Turks, British, Russians etc came to Cyprus is all recorded in history and nothing needs to be invented. If you are uneducated and you don't know the history of Cyprus it is not my fault

The problem is that being Cypriot means two different things - thanks to the British colonialists. To Turks it means taking over Cyprus and making it "new" and "turkish" just like they took over Asia Minor and made it "new".

To true Cypriots, the native Cypriots, the Greek Cypriots - it is about being authentic, historically and ethnically-bound with the land of Cyprus - not wishing it a new identity as do the Turks and their so-called Turkish Cypriot colonisers.

you lost that in 74. it is no longer the case. after delaying peace agreement for decades you have the legal titles for sure but what you can do with it is no longer your choice. it will be decided politically or by european court and if it should be by eu court, i would read their judgement of the legal difference between a house and a home. it is very important and has set precedence.

any tc who has property in the south has the right not to return and to exchange their property for one in the north. you have no right to move people from their homes, some for the 4th time.
