No he can't, he can become their leader, because to be a President you need to be a recognised state of which the trashcan is not.

They may well be there (by force of course), but it doesn't make them legal nor recognised.

These pseudo elections are a farce and to even hold them as if they are a legal entity is a bloody joke and an affront to the international community.

As their leader according to some he will be easier to negotiate with than Eroglu. He co-operated with the Mayor of Nicosia on projects and has made favourable remarks about Varosha, but in the end it's down to the motherland to decide.

I’m afraid this event is all about the world's most infamous sock.
