With the Border Force Protection Act, workers in offshore detention centres will face criminal prosecution if they report human rights violations, rape, or even abuse of children.

If a detention centre nurse obeys the new law, she'll have to turn her back on the abuse and mistreatment of vulnerable children held in private detention centres. If she doesn't, she'll spend the next two years in jail. Some of the most vulnerable children in Australia now have no hope of rescue when an adult is hurting them.

What bloody shit.

Can you please quote this law from an official source. No one has ever heard of such a thing and the detention centers are crawling with Medical Professionals, counsellors and observers.

Plus they are almost empty. Only about 500 remaining as they are slowly deported and there are none coming in.

They face criminal charges if they speak to the media about anything.

That is not the same as not reporting any abuse. The reporting of abuse is actually encourages through official channels, and the non reporting of any criminal behaviour could result in complicit charges against these persons, as well as dismissal.

It's also quite normal.

sign the petition Paphiti. Don't let the Australian government get away with legalising child abuse. There's a big movement starting up regarding this issue, there's going to be demonstrations soon in a few capitals condemning Australia and this law.

Plus I am bound by the Secrets Act till death. I might get charged for signing something so stupid after working in Border Security for years.

Plus, just having visited Cyprus, I fully understand why the Australian Government has tight controls.

Of course they deserve protection.

And they are protected by theAustralian Authorities who offer the best child protection services. By the way, you are talking about abuse by the illegals themselves I take it because the authorities do not rape children.

Usually, the children are taken out of custody and placed in foster care (families which foster other children) temporarily and even attend public school.

They do not like to incarcerate children in these Centres for more than a month. So the children are usually removed from their parents temporarily. Parents are allowed unlimited access to their children whilst they are under State care.
