You bet !
Alasia was my favourite beach location,Restaurant, as a young 11-12 years old I would cycle from Ayios Lukas to Alasia, helped a little cleaning tables, changing rooms. My late uncle Yiannis and auntie Valentina owned the place, they were very kind to me, I always got to eat ice cream and drink , that's when I begun to notice the beauty of the ....opposite sex !!! Not sure if the ice cream or the ...opposite sex was my motivating urge to go there daily during the summer period.

Had brilliant time in Varosi, fond memories. My late mother, a first cousin of auntie Valentina lived in Ayios Lukas before getting married.

I taught myself to swim right in front of the Alassia.

Got hit by a dragon fish, drakaina, there too. The most painful experience ever. I passed out in the dressing rooms from the pain.

Still remember the fish savoro!

THE place for every Famagustian.

In late 1973, early 1974 I bought my first apartment not far away from Alasia, right on the beach. CY£ 13,000
for a fabulous 2 bed holiday apartment. Side sea views as the front sea view apartments cost a bit more.

I arrived in Famagusta on July 8th 1974 with my late wife and mother in law and our 18 month old first born boy.

What a delight it was, I loved the apartment, couldn't wait to show it off to my Cypriot family. Alas, a week later I decided to drive to Limassol following the coup.

£13000 cy £ IS A HELL OF A LOT OF MONEY FOR A WEEKS STAY !!!
