Not scary, but maybe not worthy to upgrade if you are currently on WIn7.

I have Windows 7 and I barely use any functions. They've e-mailed me to say I am on the waiting list to download 10. They will let me know when my turn has come. Gives me time to think, I s'pose.

You will get used to it in a couple of days.

To be fair on Win 8 I just messed around with the functions until it loosely resembled windows 7 haha
If you wanted that start menu back, google and download an app called ''StartIsBack'', but on Win 10 its alright I suppose

PS; The internet cafes over this side are pathetic, I much prefer my American PC than the microwaves they have

Any one of you guys using OS X? I started to use mac's around 3 years ago and can honestly say I prefer them to anything running windows. I'm using a Mac mini and 15" Retina Macbook Pro and am very happy with both devices. I don't have any bloatware and with basic usage I hardly ever use over 2-3% of my CPU power.

OS X is good (based on UNIX) but personally I prefer Windows as it gives you a lot more options with the hardware... especially when you build your own computers like I do. Apple makes some great products but you pay premium for them and often their customizability/upgradability is more limited. You can't even change the battery of your laptop, for example. You would have to send it to Apple to do it for you. Not to mention that Apple is doing everything they can to lock you in their own ecosystem.

Yesterday I upgraded my rarely used laptop from Win 8.1 to Win 10. The laptop did not receive the "Get Windows 10" notice because I had not used it for months, so I decided to burn a disk with the ISO, following the instructions at Microsoft. But for whatever reason Windows 10 refused to get activated on the laptop... even though I bought Win 7 with the laptop and then I paid to have it upgraded to Win 8!! It refused to accept the serial numbers of either Win 7 (as shown on the sticker on the back of the laptop) or Win 8!! The internet is filled with "solutions" to this issue, but after trying a couple with no success I decided to just install Ubuntu instead. Worked perfectly. All drivers were installed automatically without a hitch. From the touch pad, to USB, camera, Bluetooth, WiFi ... everything worked right away... which was a bit of a surprise to me because I had lots of driver issues the last time I installed Linux a few years ago. Ubuntu looks great and is very fast on my relatively cheap laptop. The ONLY problem is that some of the software I am using are not available for Linux ... but that is OK for my rarely used laptop... I wouldn't install things like Photoshop on it anyways.
