...just an update; elections, the first in more than a decade, are coming soon.

This man has something worth considering, given who he is,

https://besacenter.org/perspectives-pap ... authority/

"EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: A dramatic letter written by a former terrorist who is running for president of the Palestinian Authority reveals the extent to which the budgets funneled to the PA from Israel and the world fuel death and terror. The time has come for the world to take notice."

You buy this? Probably you can question the funding of BeSa just as much as the funding of PA

Unlike you (and unlike Mrs Paphitis who went there to have a look at it from the outside, like you look at monkeys in the zoo), I've been to Gaza, even stayed there.
Unlike you, I don't want to go back to experience its fall. Neither would I trust whatever this so-called think thank spews out.

I don't "buy this" as you say. But i believe we are better prepared to make decisions based on a balance of differing views.

...frankly, i am unsure who to support, although given the seriousness of Gaza's, and the Palestinians' plight, it is the People i care about.

It would be nice to visit Gaza one day, for a holiday, in an atmosphere that is welcoming and without fear; wouldn't you?

What is the "News". Can you tell me? All i get to report is the news; you decide for yourself.

...indeed BeSa and its funding is suspect, i don't disagree with you; the next question is who is it written for?

...news, the news. How does this square with an Israel unafraid of the Truth? What of their Leadership in this cause?

Is it that as a Humanity we are impotent against the abuse we are witnessing here, against Universal Principals?

Is the Press now the enemy of the State, in Israel?

...one has to wonder; how lucky for Netanyahu, and Hamas, i dare say the timing could not be better for both of them.

...more news that will slip on by,

https://www.albawaba.com/news/israel-tu ... ra-1489867

HaMoked’s director Jessica Montell said international humanitarian law gave Israel the right as the “occupying force” in the West Bank to act in the name of its security and “for the well-being of the local population”.
But she said the new regulations had “nothing to do with either”, and that the goal of Israel was to “restrict the growth of the Palestinian population through family reunification”.

Foreign spouses visiting the West Bank will be limited to three- or six-month permits, with limits also placed on foreign volunteers.
“This is micromanaging, with the purpose to damage the Palestinian social fabric,” said Sam Bahour, a Palestinian-American businessman who moved to the West Bank from Ohio in 1995.
The regulations will disrupt the visits of thousands living abroad without Palestinian identity cards.

...imho, most disturbing.

The death toll was the highest since the second Palestinian intifada, or uprising, ended in 2005.

Where is the outrage in Swinelands everywhere?

Israel launched air strikes on Gaza targets in return for rocket fire from the Palestinian enclave Thursday, a day after the deadliest Israeli army raid in the occupied West Bank in nearly 20 years.

Eleven Palestinians, including a 16-year-old, were killed and more than 80 wounded in a gun battle on Wednesday after Israeli troops raided the city of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.

This was a reaction and yet Israel's Wednesday's activities were totally ignored in the news.

...a very interesting documentary which i thoroughly enjoyed.

...i make no comment, but it is worth considering how many times Israel struck ''preemptively''.
