Where is a good place to buy a new desktop PC?

Online or from a local shop? Could you name a few places?

Thanks! :)

If you don't know much about computers then it would be best to buy it from a local computer store that can provide support. You can buy from places such as eshopcy.com.cy stephanis.com.cy etc, but a small shop near where you live would also be an option.

Yes... but often a desktop is still a better choice. If you don't need the mobility and if you have a proper desk, then a desktop can provide more power (some applications require a lot of processing power), be easier to upgrade/fix, and can have a big screen and a full keyboard and mouse. Productivity on a laptop would suffer no matter how powerful it is unless you invest in an external monitor and proper keyboard.

Exactly.

That's what I've done.
External keyboard, wireless mouse and large monitor (all inexpensive and easily connected) minus all the bulk and inconvenience of a tower)

If you bought an external monitor and keyboard then the total price you paid is significantly higher than if you had bought a desktop with the same specs. The bulk is only an issue if you don't have a proper place to put the tower. And then of course there are mini desktop pcs that have even less bulk than a laptop. There are different options available but generally I'd say that a laptop is the best option if you need mobility. Otherwise there are better alternatives.

Yes, fair enough.

The monitor and keyboard was from an older desktop that got fried.

I simply connected them to the new laptop.... difference is amazing in terms of space and convenience.
