Yes the GCs have turned your shitholes into pots of gold, what did you do with ours, sell them to scumbag foreigners and gave the rest to your fucking anatolian gypsy trash. Hade assirktir.

nobody forced you to do anything to tc properties.

But Turkey certainly forced GCs out of their own homes. Maybe it's a curse that GCs can turn 'a worthless rock in the med' into such a desirable spot. The TCs win again though don't they? Hard work of the GCs making Cyprus appealing against such odds and the Tcs stand to benefit, yet again!

As my wonderful mum used to say, 'for the sake of watering the basil plant, the stone pot gets watered too'!

That's your fault for behaving like those illegal immigrants that recently landed in the British Bases whilst Turkey ran amok killing thousands of Greek Cypriots and threatening the rest with mutilations and death.

Do the Brits and Cypriots need any help from Australia? We are very efficient at processing.

We are only too willing to help our friends!

Christmas Island is a lot more Prettier than Cyprus after all.

Is that why hundreds of desecrated churches and cemeteries exist in northern Cyprus? Stones and glass houses come into mind your lordship.

Will this, literally, be the cost to Turkish Cypriots if this law is passed and subsequently there's an agreement. Perhaps it's Turkey's less than subtle way of throwing a spanner in the works.

As for the carpetbaggers, I bet sales of brown trousers have shot up in the north.

Noting that Turkey is putting pressure on the TRNC government to pass the law, Hakki said that “with this law it is provided for 30%-40% of the compensations to be paid by the current user of the property”. He claimed that the government is hesitating to bring the issue onto the agenda and this is why Turkey has slowed down the payment of the compensations, which now creates problems.

For me it seems a perfectly reasonable proposal and I say that as a 'current user' of disputed land in the north. If the legal status of the land I am current user of changes to undisputed freeholder of said land as a result of a settlement at the IPC, and the effective value of that land increases by say 30% as a result then why should I not pay the 30% ? I am the one that will accrue the increased value. If it is done in such a way that I have a choice that when the IPC settles a claim on the land I am the current users of (and will become undisputed freeholder of post the claim be settled) to either pay the 30% there and then on current value or defer it to when I sell the property as a 30% sales tax on whatever the value is when I sell it, I would be all in favour of such a law. For me at least this is not trying to throw a spanner in the works at all, quite the contrary. To me this seems like a fair and realistic proposal to help facilitate resolution of property disputes which in turn can only make a wider agreed settlement easier.
