Your analysis of the Syrian issue is flawed. Assad and his father before him were not any different from other ME Despots. Replacing Assad with who may I ask ? Another bloody dictator ? Perhaps you think that the FSA will take over and introduce ....democracy.
May I also add that your position is that of Turkey too, also admittedly that of the West but the West is not always right in its judgment.

I can't hang around for too long, I've just got back from attending the funeral of an old friend of mine that I hadn't seen for some time.

Nonetheless, since he WAS an old friend, I felt it my duty to pay my respects, others may make lame excuses when they are too idle to get off their arses to offer condolences to the departed's loved ones [although naturally, they would profess otherwise.]
