Puerto Rico - Colombia - Crete

A short analysis of the Cretan Independence Movement
https://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2012/01/491412.html
The EU know that if they can break the backs of the Greeks (the most revolutionary working class in Europe), then this will lead to a domino effect taking place, and countries such as Portugal, and Ireland following suit. However, if the Greeks manage to win their struggle by resisting forced austerity and entering into a period of self-determination and a nationalised economy, then the EU policy of free market exploitation of its poorer members will fail, and perhaps (hopefully) lead to a domino effect of succession from the union and to its inevitable collapse.

What do you know about Crete? All I know is that it is the second birthplace of Aphrodite

And a third one just off The Pelepponese ...

One theory is she was a proto middle eastern Refugee, an illegal immigrant smuggled in by those pesky Phoenicians, the guys who probably gave the then illiterate Greek the prototype for the modern Greek Alphabet, and at the same time Several Deities, probably after about 1000 bc. Her links with Cyprus are likely Phonecian in Origin as they had settlements in the SW of the Island and would likely have used the rocks that bear her name as some sort of landmark, and her coming from the sea could be some sort of Symbolism connected with the arrival of ships, where apparently Aphrodite was portrayed as the figurehead..

Her link to thr Roman Goddess Of love, Venus, may even explain the origin of an ancient British sea song,
Twas on the Good Ship Venus ....( the ship if Aphordite) .my God you should have seen us,
The figurehead was a nude,(as the lady was so often portrayed) in bed, sucking a red hot Pen*s,(again a link, That well known bird of love, the Swallow, is of course one of her mystical animals, )
