BBC – THE SUPER_RICH ..... and us!

This was on BBC World news at 6am. You are led to believe that if you work hard, get educated, you can then get a good job and a comfy lifestyle, not rich just comfortable. It is all an illusion!

This is a real wake-up call .......... it really is worth watching and explains at least in outline, about the 1% ..... actually the 0.1% and wealth inequality ...... and 'us' and it was ALL planned way back in the 70's ...... by the Bankers! :x

Yes you can get a comfortable lifestyle and that is all that most people ever want.

But in our society, about 1% will go into business. I am talking about real business here not some kind of take away or coffee shop. You could then become quite wealthy provided you have novel and innovative ideas. It's open to all of us.

Obama, is only in the comfy category. He has a job that just pays reasonably well.

Bottom line is, we are free to do what we want and provided we don't break any laws, we can pick and choose the lifestyle we want. But it does take hard work and sacrifice too because it won't be given to anyone on a platter unless of course you are born into money.

And yes, we can become Super Rich if we really want to. Problem is, not that many really want to or have the stamina, or are willing to make the sacrifice or take the necessary business risks to become super rich and most settle for a nice comfy salary, a nice house and a nice car. All provided for by the Super Wealthy who pay the salaries to get all those material goods for your comfy lifestyle.

Yes, I can enlighten you.

Steve Jobs did it with his Apple Corporation. He and a couple of his mates didn't have 2 bob to rub together and Apple did go through some pretty dark periods where they nearly went into Bankruptcy. Now they are one of the biggest Corporations in the world.

They did it by getting investors on board. nowadays, if you got a patent you can even float your ideas on the stock exchange but be warned, doesn't mean investors will jump on board but when you got ground breaking technologies etc then it is possible.

Speaking of computers and Operating Systems, there are open source things out there such as Linux and its various forms or distros. Why these guys that write these kinds of programs don't take it to the world and sell it is absolutely beyond me.

Years ago, the IT Boom was a big thing in Silicon Valley. There were Internet Start ups everywhere. Most have disappeared now, but the next big thing could be around the corner.

This is a one in a million event (or perhaps even longer odds).

Yes well a Billion Dollar Corporation like Apple is going to be a one in a million for sure. It was the IPOD which resurrected the company from Doom. Remember, 1000 songs in your pocket? Innovation. Such a very simple idea too. It's not having the money to do it, but rather coming up with weird and wonderful ideas that will change people's lives enough to want whatever it is you're pushing. That's the number one problem.

But as you filter down it gets far more common than Apple when you get into the Small and Medium Enterprise sector worth only a few millions and not Billions. Corporations which employ 10 to 500 people rather than the Apples and Microsofts which employ 500,000 people.

I never said it was easy, Even setting up a business employing 10 people is not easy but plenty of people have done it without any capital.

Watch the program ..... then comment! It is about the SUPER-RICH and 'us'! The us is a reference to the 99.9% and the middle classes which are disappearing fast .... very fast. What you and I and the vast majority of reasonably well off pensioners have today ..... we would NEVER achieve if we tried the same route to a comfortable life as a young person today! You are referring to the exceptions to the rule .... which there will always be. The program is about the masses and the 0.1% maybe even the 0,01%.
