I don't agree that you need an SUV in Cyprus. There are paved roads to all villages. I don't know why you would want to drive on the beach (just park near the beach and then walk) and river beds are obviously not made for driving! If you want to do that sort of off-road driving then you do need an a 4x4 ... but you don't need one in Cyprus any more than you would need one in Western Europe. I go to a shooting range for my army duties that you need to drive over several kilometers of unpaved road to get there... an SUV would be more comfortable for that, but people go there with all sorts of cars, even small cars like Yaris, with no problems. I've done that road even in February after it rained and the road was muddy and still I manage with my normal car. So SUVs and 4x4 only if you like to do off-road driving as a sport / adventure. You don't need such a car otherwise.

i agree actually.
I could never understand the needing an SUV mentality.
