Oh btw, my entire family children included are Cypriot citizens. That means we are EU citizens and consequently can even resettle ourselves in any EU country of our choosing. It's good that we have that flexibility, although I doubt I will ever take advantage of it. My children could do if that is what they want to do. But I am pretty sure as Australian citizens they can still get permanent residency in many EU countries and even study there and also work. Britain is probably always open for them if they wish.

The likeliest country I could move to myself is Greece. Sorry but I just like Greece too much and if that occurs it will be in retirement. I can do that as a Cypriot citizen no problems.

But regardless of all these advantages, I just don't like the EU at all. I use to and even supported the RoC entering the Eurozone. But I was mistaken. This was the worse thing to ever happen to Cyprus since the invasion. I really do believe that.

Over the years I have come to see with my own eyes the evil that is the EU. They have caused a lot of suffering and taken away the hopes and dreams of millions of people.

I can never forgive the EU for what it has done. No way will I ever support them. Never again!!

Don't be so insulting!

No I am not RH. I'm not an idiot who needs to be dictated too either by some Euro technocrats all the way from Brussels.

Too nationalistic.

If you want an EU, then you got to have a Federated State like the US of A otherwise your just pissing in the wind and there is no chance all these countries will agree to forego all their sovereignty.

I really enjoyed Nigel Farage's wonderful speech in the EU Parliament claiming victory. It was a victory for so many people. It was a victory for Greece too.

This guy really made me proud of Britain.

It's time the EU just rolled over and died!

Paphitis:

Britain is a big country with a big economy. One of the biggest. Sure it isn't as big as USA or China but who is?

Agreed

If Britain isn't a country that can exercise full sovereignty then who on earth other than USA and China can?

Russia, Iran, India and of course Iraq, Libya and Syria before the West decided they needed to benefit from the American dream, so they used proxies to bomb them back into the stone age!

Whist the UK is in the EU, how can it have full sovereignty if it is subject to directives from the EU Commission? A very strong point for the UK is that it has its own sovereign currency and a Central Bank that is ‘independent ‘ from the ECB/IMF.

There are smaller countries that exercise full sovereignty Tim. Holland is one of them and they are not in the EU.

Sorry but the Nederlands is in the EU and thus does not exercise full sovereignty! It’s currency is the Euro which negates ‘full sovereignty’. Its Central Bank is the ECB. It has no more control of its national sovereignty than any other Eurozone country.

Holland and Australia are the only 2 countries in the world to exceed 25 years of growth even through the GFC.

You must be referencing another Holland In 2014 the Dutch growth was negative by 0.2%

The EU has been a handbrake for many countries and even almost destroyed some other countries.

Agreed.
The future is with having FTAs like the Asia Pacific TPP. Also having bilateral and trilateral FTAs between nations.

Probably ..... but the TTIP project has hit the skids and has been rejected.

Having a singular currency and Central Bank and legislating for many countries through a Central Parliament when you have economies like Germany, Britain, France at one end and countries like Greece, Cyprus and Portugal at the other end is a recipe for disaster.

I agree and it has been proved.

And you think the posts of the lunatic of Vouni do not point to somebody with mental issues? I mean, would you not agree that having an obsessive conviction that the fact that banks can lend out more money than they take in deposits is the root of all evil is a sign of being somewhat deranged? Yet, you are perfectly happy to align yourself with him here.

I got to agree with you here.

That's not very nice! At least I can prove what I say, TD comments are his opinion without any credibility!

Some people are just so deranged to want the entire global financial system to collapse. All this can achieve is to inflinct a lot of pain and suffering on poor people.

I don't want to see the Global economy collapse but burying your head in the sand, with your fingers in your ears and singing la-la-la will not stop the tide coming in ! Only knowledge will prepare you for what is inevitable.

They even viewed the entire Greek financial collapse with glee desperately hoping for a wider EU and global contagion.

I felt very sorry for the Greek people they were sold up the river by Tsypras. I still believe he was given the order to dispense with Varoufakis services ..... or else! Varoufakis could have saved them. But he had 'crazy' economic ideas that would have threatened the Euro and the EU and he ran circles around La Garde and the TROIKA .... they didn't have a clue what he was talking about but knew he was a threat.

The global financial system is however a very robust beast. It may trip every now and then, but it ALWAYS rebounds bigger and better than ever before.

You think so?

And the driving forces behind the markets and the Banks are people. It's all of us. We drive the whole show and rely on it everyday.

The driving force behind the financial system are algorithms, very big computers and speculators. The values are created by ms responses by the computers to the buying and selling of shares ..... which are receipts that have a face value determined by 'algorithms and very big powerful computers'. I am sorry but people really don't come into the operation apart from punching the keyboard.

As for banks ...... my opinion of them as parasites is known!

They even hope that BREXIT will result in a global crisis. It won't! Maybe there will be some short term difficulties but the markets have a way to correct themselves and before too long confidence returns.

I certainly didn't think that but the banking and financial system will result in a Global crisis, that is for sure. The only thing we don't know is when and the severity is an unknown!

I actually hope and believe Britain will be just A.O.K. In fact I am excited to see Britain make a stand against the EURO thugs and really give it to these criminals!

I agree.

As far as I am concerned, I a barracking for Britain all the way!

Me too! Positive attitudes helps ..... not a lot of that in this thread though!

How dare they Tim bully so many countries around and remove dignity from an entire people? That's what they did to Greece and there was no compassion whatsoever. I feel very embarrassed for Greece. It's a real shame they are so under the thumb they can't do a thing. What has happened to Greece was worse than NAZI occupation. Think about it.

Again I agree with you. But was it JUST the EU that acted like Nazi's ? Wasn't the IMF and the ECB (Bankers!!!!!) in the thick of all the bullying? In fact, as I see it THEY were the driving force behind the rape of Greece!

That's your choice to believe this. Seek and you shall see.

Plus your on for the 10 bucks and I raise you 100!

I am saying the individual has a rather unhealthy fixation with Banks and the Global Financial System. The very same system that is responsible for pulling Billions out of poverty. To wish its demise, will only take Billions back to poverty. Good thing is, the Banks and global financial markets are a very tough nut to crack and I am pretty sure it will survive RH's onslaught! After all, it survived depressions, World Wars and many a economic downturn. The weak among them just fold that is all. Survival of the fittest and Natural Selection at a corporate level if you will. Not only this, but he reveres individuals like Pootin and Asad. One is an outright war criminal bombing civilians with Chlorine Gas whilst the other watches. That say's a LOT about Robin Hoods mental state.

I think you are wrong about not being able to move to the UK. My children are Australian Citizens and all it takes is some paperwork. There are about a million Aussies in London working or studying.

I know British migrants are pretty much on a fast track into Australia if they want as well.

But even if that wasn't the case, then its still no reason for me to compromise my values just because I want to live in the UK or any other EU country, by supporting the EU which quite clearly I loathe more than anything. I would prefer dealing with that particular countries immigration department just like everyone else wanting to go there, and I am sure it shouldn't be too much hassle to get there in the end. I would prefer to deal with the hassle than to accept criminality.

BTW people, all of you were saying that Aleppo will fall almost a year ago.

It hasn't, and not only this but the people are showing AMAZING spirit despite the constant Chemical Attacks against innocent women and children.

Bitten more than you can chew obviously.

If you want to talk about Syria/Aleppo maybe you should post on the appropriate thread? This thread is about the UK leaving the EU and to a degree, so far I agree with much of what you have said. :)

Paphitis:
I am saying the individual has a rather unhealthy fixation with Banks and the Global Financial System. The very same system that is responsible for pulling Billions out of poverty.

I am persistent and my views are consistent, because you have yet to demonstrate that I am wrong.

An example; How do you pull billions of people out of poverty by lending their country (or an individual) more money than they can afford to pay back? Greece, once again, being an example.

Delve a bit deeper in Greece and you will find that they are deeper in debt than ever and almost all bail-outs they are given by these bankers, goes straight back to the banks. The infrastructure of Greece (Its National Assets) has now been sold off by these benevolent bankers, to get their money back. All Greece’s airports are owned by a German group and the ports have been sold of to the Chinese. How has this pulled the country out of poverty? If the country is in debt how do individuals maintain the payments on their loans when the country is getting poorer?
To wish its demise, will only take Billions back to poverty. Good thing is, the Banks and global financial markets are a very tough nut to crack and I am pretty sure it will survive RH's onslaught! You twist the facts! I foresee, along with many other informed sources, the demise of the banking system as it stands today as being inevitable. They are a tough nut to crack because they have friends in high places and can resist every attempt to regulate them to prevent the excesses that are only too obvious .... which ever sources you use to gain an insight.
Not only this, but he reveres individuals like Pootin and Asad. One is an outright war criminal bombing civilians with Chlorine Gas whilst the other watches. That say's a LOT about Robin Hoods mental state.

I don’t revere anybody I take people as I find them! So far the evidence from the field says very differently and, once again points to the US supported terrorists as the most likely source (sorry - 'moderate rebels' ?) ! But you are entitled to your opinion but post it on an appropriate thread.
