Has anyone ever been to any of the gun clubs in Cyprus?

Skeet-shooting, still targets, places like that. In the NY tri-state area (New Jersey, Connecticut), we have several gun clubs/shootings clubs where you can practice shooting.

Nice! I'll check out the website! Have you been? I wonder if membership is required. Also, some gun clubs are MEN ONLY.

My uncle and cousins were in this kind of stuff. I went with them 1-2 times when I was a child but I don't remember anything. I guess membership would be required but it will be easy to get. I don't think it is men only. Check this out also: http://www.cssf-shooting.org/

Hello Joanne,

the rules on guns in cyprus - as per my understanding - handguns, rifles and .22 air rifles are not allowed.

Only shotguns are allowed and this excludes semi autos (or anything that can load more than 2 shells.

As for the clubs, there is one in limassol, nicosia, paphos area and a small one in Paralimni. They do not required membership, they are simply pay as you go. You buy tokens and you go to each stand, put in your token and you get you 25 birds (or clays).

Best check opening times on the CSSF website though. I would also add it helps if you go in twos as you need someone to press the button when you call PULL.

I habe been to the limassol, nicosia and paralimni sites, but not the paphos one. The limassol and nicosia are very nice and have very challenging sporting birds. The other disciplines, skeet, DT, DTL etc are generally the same wherever you go. The paralimni site is OK for skeet, but poor for sporting. It is also a small site OK when you just want to for a quick shoot.

As for women, they are always welcome. If you both shoot then even better.

If you need any more info just let me know. It is a pet subject of mine.

regards

WOW! Thanks for the in-depth info on this. Allen is a firearms instructor so I think he'll really be interested! As for me, the last time I was at a range was about 5 years ago. I'm completely out of practice but would like to start up again. I will defintely look to you for advice on this subject.
