Is the official publication of the 'Salvation Army' and is distributed world wide, the 'SA' is involved in a multitude of events which raise funds and encourage donations for the furtherance of their works within various social and religious circles.

The objectives of the 'SA' (and one might even suggest that their ultimate objective) would bring about peace on earth and I doubt if any person would not wish to embrace such ambition, however, having been on the march for decades now, it would appear that their ambition has surely suffered some abatement and a cursory glance at the state of the world (in terms of peace) is surely conviction of the fact.

'War Cries' have ever attended the throngs of those who march into battle, there are countless examples of them which stretch back into the days when warfare was a 'Tribal' affair and (Closer to home for the Brits) the 'Clans' of Scotland were notoriously famous for their very personal 'War Cries' (very often associated with their family name rather than a 'Deity) when they had disputes twixt one and the other.

Honourable as ANY of the 'War Cries' may have been in their time, it is again obvious that the objectives (if peace on Earth) have NOT worked and, apologies to 'SA' (and other orders likened to it) I am of the opinion that your REAL objectives are more in tune with the 'Feathering of your nests' than bringing about world peace.

Now the IS is quite different, THEIR 'War Cry'........."Allahu Akbar" has put the shits up most of the world (particularly the Yanks) and it is obvious that their objective is also an ultimate one, that the 'Black Flag of Islam' will flutter o'er the earth, an earth that will live under the protection of the shadow of the 'Prophet's Beard' (pbuh) and may we ALL live to bask in the glory of such peace and protection.

With respect. that is an excuse not an explanation. It was this sort of pious explanation when I was very young and was sent to Sunday School (because it was good for me!) that put me off religion and the idea of there being a God. Nobody had a plausible explanation for all these events accredited to this God. I was told it was wrong to question the teachings of ‘The Lord God Almighty’ and when I am given that sort of reply I look for a rat, because somebody is on a cover up!
