Hello!!
The final result is we are comming to Limassol on 16th Feb :D because of new jobs.
Therefore I would like to ask you for several information.
1) Is there daylight-saving time in Cyprus?

2) How much are (for example) oranges, fishes, potatoes in markets (we want to compare it to prices in Prague)

3) how much is usual lunch or supper in restaurant

4) Is there any guitar (eletric) shop in Limassol? :)

1) Yes

2) Oranges £0.60 kilo. Potatoes £0.28 per kilo. Fish...Very varied prices depending on type.

3)Cheap Taverna Meal for 2, around £10, including a couple of drinks.

4) Probably.

I'm sure you'll find Cyprus is a lot more expensive than Prague.

tcklim, 7cyp is a reasonable price for many kind of dishes.

It always depends on what you order.

I don't find it quite cheap.... especially for a tourist . I mean I'd pay 7 CYP in Switzerland for a main dish in an average restaurant, but Switzerland is reknown as a very expensive country....... and considering how fast the prices have gone up with how little the salaries have gone up, Cyp is quite expensive.....

Oh and i know at least 2 guitar shops here.... I bought one 6 years ago at a shop i don't remember where, but it had a nice selection.... there's also a music equipment store opposite the maximos plaza next to the roundabout...

7 CYP per person in restaurant or for 2?
We was in china restaurant where menu for 2 with drinks charged 4 CYP, but it was in Prague. Usual price for 2 persons in ordinary rest. is about 4 - 5 CYP in Prague except the midtown.

I don't assume we will eat in any restaurant often. That information was only for price comparing.

Employer will be paying our apartment in Limassol, I think it will help us very much.

CYP 4 for 2, with drinks? VERY unlikely here. In an ordinary family restaurant here, the cheapest main dish alone is usually in the CYP 2.50 to 4.00 range. One of the most popular meals is the meze, which you may be able to find for CYP 5 per person, although 6 - 7 is more likely for a good one. Add another CYP 4 for a bottle or carafe of cheap wine. The coffee at the end is often offered.

As for Lausanne, I find CHF 20.-- is cheap: and I don't frequent Rochat's establishment at the Hôtel de Ville de Crissier! The last time I was there, I took my daughter to the Epi d'Or at Renens, hardly a chic place, and the Auberge by the LEB station at Etagnières (forgotten the name). We each had a salad and steak-frites in both places with a 5 deci pôt de Salvagnin plus un espresso, reasonably modest meals and in both cases, the two meals set me back between CHF 65.-- and 70.-- (~CYP 25). Even a pizza is usually about CHF 15.--, in my experience.

My mistake  !!!

Of course not 4 CYP for 2, but 4 CYP per person = 8 for 2 :-)

Than CYP 8 -10 is usual.
