National Guard launches missiles in training exercise [VIDEO]

The National Guard announced on Thursday that as part of a training exercise, it had fired Mistral surface-to-air missiles for the first time in Cyprus.

The missiles were launched from a vehicle and from the ground with excellent results, the army said.

Mistral is a very short-range air defence system that can be operated from various platforms – vehicles, surface ships, helicopters, as well as in a portable configuration.
