CTO will never try and sell this reality.
There's no money in ice and snow....

But when the Russians start promoting the ski slopes of CY....

And with all respect, cheers.
I mean how many years have I been documenting the winter wonderland of CY?
I can't remember the amount of photos and videos over the last decade..

All that remains is for somebody to take advantage of the existing resources.

I have always enjoyed your lovely Troodos montages.

I have some nice photos of son playing snowball fights with our dog in the snow up in the Troodos - he was wearing shorts because we had been on the beach in the morning in Polis and it was warm and sunny. This was in February. :D

1) More onsite Hotels, restaurants, village with small Casino is needed up at the square. Card tables, slots, roulette;
2) charge for parking and charge a road toll to get in and out sell discounted permits for permanent residents and sell season park entry for people who want to travel up there more often;
3) Multistorey car park is needed lower down the mountain with a chairlift to resort. Charge people to go up the chair lift. The chair lift can generate income all year.
4) Tax casino revenues and use the income generated from the carpark, road tolls, permits, chair lift to invest heavily in effluent water recycling and snow making:

But how about we establish some sort of national ski federation and hold annual competitions first.

Everything else can follow.

It'll probably get as popular as rugby! :lol:

There's a lot of shit going on every year but how much of that is popular?

ie 1: This idiot is ranked 4th in the deathwish competition…
http://www.sigmalive.com/en/sports/1509 ... ampionship

ie 2: This fella won gold in fencing…
http://www.parikiaki.com/2016/12/alexan ... ng-cyprus/

But how many people care about such stupid “sports”? :? :lol:

Nobody is suggesting it must become popular, but it needs to exist and the opportunities need to be there for whoever is interested.

...i thought there was a ski team; i imagined that they were practicing toward a place in the Olympics. If it's not the case it is news to me, and disappointing.

...the snow in Cyprus is (must be) magnificent, always a nice day on the slopes, if it's not blowing, it is never, at least, -30C with the wind chill.

I like cross-country skiing, it was easy to master, and it is a great way to 'walk' in the woods, you can travel extraordinary distances in comfort; and its fun.

...i only remember April, and May in the woods, i remember even in June seeing snow.

RW, there is!
We send athletes to the winter Olympics. (very few)
But they're Kypraioi of the diaspora who spend most of their time overseas.

It's exactly the point I'm trying to make.
