Example:

A couple with kids in conflict are considering separating. One of the two is from another country and thinking of taking the kids overseas so the other puts the kids on the stop list (through a lawyer applying in court) to keep the kids from exiting the country.

You can be put on a stop list for criminal activities, non payment of taxes, if you are wanted by the police, of even not doing your military service.

You parents cannot put you on a top list.

If you need to escape, go through the illegal occupied areas they have all sorts of fugitives there. That's what most wanted persons do. The GC police are too busy play tail, smoking or frappe drinking to give a shit who passes and who doesn't.

The National Guard gives you a specific time frame during which you must answer why you are deferring your national service. During that time you must supply evidence that you have enrolled for tertiary studies, or are leaving overseas for good, or whatever other acceptable excuse.

If you allow that time frame to expire without sorting out this matter then they can prevent you from leaving the country (by putting you on the stop list) and have you arrested so you may face a court and answer why you haven’t responded to your national obligation.

Stop list: All ports of entry/exit into a country are notified of your details (details entered into a computer system) to prevent you from being able to travel overseas.

Depends. If the parents are the plaintiff in a case against their 18+ child and they suspect that their child is considering running from justice then the parents may seek to have their child placed on the stop list through their lawyer.

??? Pretty irresponsible suggestions.

You could always do what Milti did, grass up your mates and abandon your country for FIFTY YEARS and make sure you don't spend enough time on holiday in Cyprus to qualify for 'Military Service' during that half century, THEN, decide to wriggle back among the TRUE Cypriots by insisting you are a 'Patriot'.

His 4ft 8” stature would only qualify him for garden gnome on the patch of green outside the defense minster's office, so it’s just as well he left.

Silly old sod.

You've got the hump because you know that your claims to 'Patriotism' have been exposed BUT, there is a new law in Cyprus (particularly for old 'Draft Dodgers') that, at whatever age the 'DD' may be, the 'Military' are empowered to capture and take into custody the offender and put him to work cleaning out the 'Shit Houses' in the barracks.

Best get your mop and bucket ready mate, the 'Games Up' for you I fear.

Yes, I guess it was, but if our lot did their F jobs we would also stop all the Turks coming over, all the trash from the African continent walking over and stop draft dodgers and criminals freely going and coming. Our security services are just shit and we want to take on Turkey FFS.

I say close the F crossing points put a top to it all. End of.
