The forum is all about everything that is interesting LR. Imo there are less forum abusers, than there are whining grannies, the #1 of the later been the initiator of this topic

But it's all kinda weird. Weird is OK of course. But to perpetually hijack earthbound threads with weird seems a bit selfish. Don't you think that there's a clear demand for a dedicated weird section?

I used to live in N Scotland. We could feel the power lines on Cluny hill where we were, especially while we were dreaming. I think I owe my longevity and passiveness - that is, lack of motivation to kick the crap out of some people who rub me up the wrong way - to it. I should have enlisted at the Findhorn Foundation when I had the brief chance. Life is full of missed opportunities. Don't you agree?

What do you think about my weird section idea? We could stop winding up all these earthbound people? At the very least, hijacking people's posts seems quite rude.

The topic has been hijacked by the initiator himself LR when he started talking about computer issues...
Basically no thread remains on topic in this forum. I would agree with you that it would be rude if done from the very beginning.
However after the topic has been exhausted, nobody really cares.

If I may be uncharacteristically personal for a minute, I don't want power, money, skills, nothing, only to know myself. But I do have obligations to my family and karma. "They" already monitor my personal email account and send me messages which I reply to as saved drafts. All my mathematical ideas go to "them", and "they" progress, responsibly or otherwise, I don't know. The trouble is I know too much, and the only way to stay in my current position is to live the life of the insane. I am not complaining, surfing reality in exchange for reasonable financial support is a great blessing, but what will happen when my family who supports me passes on, and what hope have I of ever having a family of my own. If Mr. Corbyn becomes prime minister then perhaps I could get a job with the British Military karma free, for then the British state would finally be the good guys, that is if Jeremy doesn't go the whole way and abolish the military altogether as he once said he would. The world is one system of organism, and the British Military are not inherently bad, someone up there finds me useful or I'd not have been tolerated so long, but when I meet them face to face, there is generally a lack of empathy, a "them" and "us" feeling pervades, as with Jeremy and the Queen. When I was younger I dreamed of working in a university, and perhaps this desire is still eating away at me. Have you read Dirk Gently's Detective Agency by Douglas Adams, it contains all the ideas that this thread is about, including the "abusers" and our "joint". Originally meant as a Doctor Who story, it is quite humorous to boot. At one point one of the protagonists poses the question "what is the point in teaching anyone anything?", the answer is to learn something about oneself. So no, I don't want money, power, or even skills which bring with them burdens. But I do want dignity and the ability to pay off my debt to all those without whom I would be lost. Thank you.

...again, if there was a 'like' button, i would have pushed it.

i understand you tsuk, at least i think i understand you some of the time.

Indeed it is to do good (whatever that means), like Tolstoy, he comes to mind, trapped in a world where to live, in making a living, he must write novels, some of them becoming the greatest works of his time, and yet for the very few, his true passion, he continued to write small pamphlets, as a Pamphleteer, pleas, short pages, calls to arms so to speak, easily sold or given away at the end of a bar in any cafe, these the engine of thought that drove the French Revolution, he was perhaps the last of his kind; twitter, or a Forum as this, You-tube, come to mind as well. Engines of change driven by thoughts, a thought for change...

...Hate is a good thing, Tolstoy taught me that. It is a weapon well used against real enemies. Lest we Forget, what did a whole generation of men who died, at war, teach us? It is that the real enemy is not each other, but Ignorance, and that Hunger, Disease, and Displacement, are the enemies that with all our heart we can fight, and with Hatred, lovingly. Tolstoy taught me this as well, in plain sight and in simple terms, while his novels may have carried these themes.

...so yea, on the beach, i was reading Das Capital, and it was easy, why, i don't know. Later in life working at a Bank, a graphic technician making graphs to explain economic results, for the CEO, i had hoped that "they" as you call them would take an interest in a person who has taken the time to learn what is in effect, the adversary; i was wrong, and the best jobs i could get were the jobs that i could do myself, for another individual, not in the security of having a job, and not what i had spent my young life learning for, i adapted and as i progressed in the building trade(s), i was "found" again, but as the man "they" threw into fires. Sadly, most of the damage done on big projects are small things, the boss has been cheap, or tricky, even negligent. My greatest satisfaction is the interpersonal relationship i have with the men (i say men, rarely there are women working too), who do the work, and who need not much guidance to have more pride, and to do what they know, is the right thing. The intrique kills me though, i hate it, because i am still treated as a carpetbagger, not one of "them", even though with me they bury their own errors, they will call me though, when they need me.

...so as a wrecking post, i'll throw in this personal ditty, for you, and the other readers, not as excellently written as yours, but what the heck, talking of computers, personal things as well, something more in this vain.

Thanks RW for you nice life experience post. Very interesting. I thought you were a journalist though, I am quite surprised you were at the Banks and later on in the building industry.
