Football, Basketball, F1 etc.

The South Cypriot team is better than Wales and San Marino.

You are right about San Marino, not sure about Wales though.
At home Cyprus could beat Wales, away from home though it would be a different story. I actually think Cyprus might perform better against Slovakia than Wales. Cyprus did quite well playing against Slovenia in the last Euro Cup qualifying group, I think Slovenia and Slovakia are similar quality sides.

San Marino is an easy one. If Cyprus plays good they can win Wales and Slovakia also. I think Slovokia is better than Wales.

Alexis,my friend,South Cyprioth team has really powerful forward players(Konstantinou,Okkas,Giasemakis)As a Turk, I think that south Cypriot team is not so bad.At least better than Wales.

Sure, I agree, and Cyprus probably has a much more talented team than Wales and quite a number of other small European sides. But that isn't what counts, what counts are results, and so far Cyprus has failed to get them. So far any group we've been in we consistently come between the no-hopers (San Marino, Malta, Faeroe Islands etc...) and teams like Wales, Slovenia, Israel etc..., who we should be beating. We constantly show our potential by getting close 2-1 results against teams like France (the kind of teams that pummel the likes of San Marino 7-0), but when it comes to the teams like Wales who we should beat we at best get a draw and inevitably come behind them in the table. I really hope this changes this time round, Cyprus' results have been getting better and the team definitely has the talent to do well.

Our team doesn't have a winner mentality. This is what is missing and the reason the results are worst than the team.

giuorgas , you as well as all the cronies who live in a fantasy world created by a foreign power must realise that Cyprus is one entity , one nation currently a divided nation , those who talk of North and South are the Cypriots who want a permanent partition of our land , that is your land and mine. Cyprus will always exist , has done so for thousands of years as one island , no amount of propaganda is going to change this. The international community recognises Cyprus as one. The Republic of Cyprus recognises and bestows to all its citizens the Cypriot Nationality not the bloody Turkish or the bloody Greek. You and all want division of Cyprus will not win , the REFERENDUM WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO THE OVERWELMING MAJORITY.It was not a vote against a solution , the quicker that every one realizes that we need a solution that will be acceptable not only to one side but also the majority must feel comfortable to endorse it.
Until such time drop the bullshit on North and South . When Cyprus participates in international events does so as Cyprus , that is you country and mine. As far as comments regarding the likelihood of recognition of one part , the part that is under Turkish occupation , then you have been hood winged in to believing that Europe and the USA will force the International community to recognise .You will be disappointed , a recognition will set a precedent that no nation in the world apart from Turkey will want to see. And Turkey needs Europe much more than Europe needs Turkey.
