How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Turkish Cypriot Conditions for a BBF

Postby MrH » Tue Sep 19, 2017 9:59 am

The following are the Turkish Cypriot Conditions in a BBF deal:

1. Turkey to guarantee the future "Turkish Cypriot Constituent State"
2. Turkey to reduce its soldiers on the Turkish Cypriot State from 40'000 to only 650!
3. Rotating Presidency
4. The proposed Turkish Cypriot State to be no less than 29% of the entire territory on the island. A reduction of almost from its current 37%.

Is that so hard to agree to?

We have done for the last 43 years, it is you MFs that are wanting to get into the RoC. With such demands you have no Fckn chance.

Just stick with your momma Turkey and we'll worry about how to free the northern illegally held portion.

Have a nice day.

Ermm.. what you want is for us to " kiss Northern Cyprus goodbye" anyways, by granting to you officially the 29% of Cyprus. PLUS on TOP of that you also want 50% power share. Do you think we are idiots? Give you 50% of power share, give you a large share of our natural gas, pay to raise your standards of living etc and in return just get 7% of land? Get lost. Come back if you have an offer WAY better (for us) than that.

Hi everyone,

What amazes me is how you Greek Cypriots fail to read the small print of your own constitution of 1960 and strongly believe that the island is yours! Britain relenguished the island for a reason, and that was to protect its Soverign interests along side those of Greece and Turkey. That can never change. Basically, if you don't accept a Federal deal which satisfies Turkey, you will lose Northern Cyprus, and in tern lose your side too of the years with mass migration. Neither Turkey or now the UNITED KINGSOM are in the EU. The politics on the island has changed. Wake up and smell the roses. Speak to Anastasiades if you have any doubts as he will very clearly define what his responsibilities are and how much he lies to you. In fact, speak to Clerides whom will tell you what his Presidential experience was and how much he regrets not signing a Federal deal from back in the day!

Turkey's, and the TRNCs, position on Cyprus are embedded in UN agreements, hence why Anastasiades is always compelled to return to the negotiating table.

In addition, regarding your EU status, that no longer means SHIT when it comes to a Cyprus COMPREHENSIVE solution so stop looking stupid with trying to use that basis as a means of Forcing Turkey in accepting certain false conditions. Without Turkey being a ful EU member state, the EU, like how it has clearly set out in its formal relationship with Cyprus, "has No effective control over the Northern Territory until a Comprehensive settlement is secured". Also, and I'm sure the little honest remaining Greek Cypriots on your side would agree with, becoming an EU member state has actually caused more problems and has actually empowered Turkey's position on the island, especially after their broken promises to the Turkish Cypriots after the 2004 Annan Plan referendum. In other words, you are locked in seeking a Comprehensie Federal agreement under UN parameters until someone on your side sees the light. Until then, this forum is wasting its time!

But don't YOU insist to CHANGE that constitution and have something DIFFERENT? If you want the 1960 agreements then forget about BBF and all that and lets get back to those agreements. If you want to negotiate something different like BBF then we have to make NEW agreements. Keep hoping that you can get what you want with threats. If you want BBF or any new agreements you have to offer to us something we LIKE. If you don't understand this simple thing then you are wasting your time.
