I am sorry that i cannot agree with you, lonewolfcypriot. I am Cypriot, whether i am Greek or not, my village remains Cypriot despite the "Greeks" and "Turks", despite the navel gazing of young people like you who would love to believe in something we've learned from the past; that "we" are donkeys.

...and if you are Turkish, and you have chosen to "be" Turkish, and not Cypriot, now will you become a "Turk", or, as hateful as "Greeks"?

And as a Turk, not a "Turk" what can you do if you are against "them"? Can you answer that?

Abi I am not against anyone. I believe in freedom of association. If you are happy with calling yourself a Cypriot then I will support your right to do so.

...indeed, i would hardly call 65% Yes a great success, given the notion of how "Turks" and elections work together.

...like the 75% who voted "No" in the Republic itself, it is an indication of a populace that is neither "Greek", or "Turkish", if you think about it.

...and for the record, you may reply to the Forum (read: news outlet) in the north that still has a comments section, but they won't publish your remarks.

...i'm not complaining, but Cyprus exists, Cypriots exist; for the life of me, why it is necessary to "pick", escapes me. It has been most of my life now, the Problem unabated. If it wasn't for the Ignorance that i witnessed, as a result personally, i would not be the one to write everyday. What are "Greeks", what are "Turks" are the same to me, and it is because of them, that i found myself as a Cypriot having to defend this identity the only way i can.

...from another thread; there is an answer to your question in this post.

"Turkishness" means a lot of things to Turks, who are not "Turks", "being" Turkish.

...again; you may be Turkish, you may choose not to be Cypriot, but as a Turk asking yourself "who" you are, who are you?

...if you are not "Turkish", i am also asking, but Turkish, as a Cypriot because these are your roots, what can you do about it?

London event in Memory and Honor of our martyrs Dervis Ali Kavazoglou and Costas Misaoulis

...who are these persons/individuals?

if you answer the question(s), answer it for yourself; you will be a better person (and a better individual) for it.
