And about 70% of London is owned by foreign investment, so what, what's your point. When the time comes, they will be kicked the fuck out along with the Turkish and British trash that pollute our shores.

Their current 'ownership' is pseudo and illegal.

...yes, it has been a relevant issue for a long time actually. Somewhere there is another thread on the same topic, although, now, a number has been put to it.

...it would not surprise me that the land they have is not scattered but concentrated. Also problematic in that as a Constituency they will, if big enough, seek recognition as another Cypriot Constituency (but that would take generations). For now they are simply another set of carpetbaggers, opportunists that will someday have to pay a larger bill than they imagined. They are not Cypriots, nor do they seek Citizenship from the "north". Thus, I doubt Israel will defend their "rights", against the Republic, having acted illegally, when this land is returned to its rightful owners because they are there, as i understand it to grow their crops, only when their land in Israel remains fallow as is required by religious custom. At that point, the person that "sold" them the land will have as well, to pay a price acting illegally; you can bet that these "purchasers" will not be so easy to ignore if it will cost them money, beyond the inconvenience of finding farmland somewhere else.

As is the case with the EEZ and its gaz, only when value is ignored, can what represents cheapest cost present a case for greater profit. Greater value always trumps lowest cost when thinking involves a long term strategy. Not everyone is short-sighted. While there are Israelis who hope for Turkey's success in the occupied north, it is not the first time Turkey presents itself as an enemy to Israel. "They" have this to think about, Turkey is their friend, "Turkishness" is not.

...just something to think about, it will not surprise me if some of them will pay for that land again, in full; it would not bother them for the opportunity it represents. And if some settled in Cyprus to become Cypriots, that could be a good thing.

70% of any big city is owned by foreign investment; that is another story, but also worrisome, for the same reason in some ways.
