Chefs jobs

Postby Jonaboot6385 » Tue Jul 24, 2018 11:28 pm

Hi I’m looking for a little help

I’m moving to Cyprus early next year and am looking for a little information regarding the job situation .
I’m a chef with 18 years experience currently a head chef in the uk . I speak Greek pretty fluent as I’m half greek Cypriot and I’m looking to settle in Cyprus . I’m wanting to know if there is much work out there as there are a fair few advertised but not to sure as salaries are so different ranging from 800 Euro to 2000 Euro !

What I really want to know is
a)am I going to be able to find work
B)salary
C) will £10000 savings be sufficient to see me through until I find work

I’m a very hard worker and am not to fussed initially where to find work as needs must

Any info would be appreciated
Jon

Your research has answered the first 2 questions. The salary range is from €800 to €2000 (with 18 years experience you should be closer to the €2000) and since there are several positions advertised it means you should be able to find work. £10000, assuming you are alone and you will economize, can last you for about 6 months. It should be enough time to find work, but you can not be certain.

It would be best if instead of quitting your UK job you took 2-3 weeks vacation and you came to Cyprus to explore your options. You could arrange for a few interviews and submit your CV from before you arrive and try to use the full extent of your time to find a new employer. Even if you can't find a job during those 2-3 weeks, this will give you a better indication of how easy it would be to get such a job and how much you can earn, so you can then make a more informed decision.
