I hate this place!!!

We woke up this morning to find snow on the ground. I turned on the tv to get the latest weather report:

Windy and frigid - high of -4 (celsius).
Well, its only 9 AM and its already -4...

I can't wait to get to Cyprus!!!

You could always go up to the Troodos mountains for weather like that!

But to pre-empt your reply, it's not like being marooned in an urban jungle in the depths of winter. Still, it depends if you like big cities or not.

I was in Cyprus for 3 years - left five years ago. Love the people, the scenery and the cuisine but I missed the buzz of a big city.

Why do you hate NY?

Shouldn't it get warmer later on?

Big cities have advantages and disadvantages. I think it depends on what you are used to.

It also depends, I think, on how old you are. Some of my younger friends (brought up on the island) find Cyprus boring and think the fact that everybody knows everybody felt quite oppressive - they long for the freedom and anonymity of a big city.

People who are older, people with kids love the feeling of community and the fact that people do watch out for one another.

I can understand both points of view.

I was born and raised in NY and I'm so tired of the fast pace. I need to slow down - or I'll have a breakdown.
