PC engineer required - Episkopi/Erimi/Kolossi areas

Postby BerkshireScouse » Sat Oct 06, 2018 9:52 am

Hi, can anyone recommend a mobile PC engineer in the Epi/Erimi/Kolossi areas, who doesn't charge too exorbitant rates? My PC is operating extremely slowly, and I'd like to find out if it can be repaired, or if I should just bite the bullet and buy a new one. Many thanks.

Windows PCs get slow over time when there’s no daily maintenance performed.

Ideally, every day you should use a junk file cleaner, about once a week a registry cleaner, and about once a month a malware scanner.

If you ain’t doing any of the above then it’s no surprise it’s going slow.

Even if someone was to fix it for you it’ll go back to running slow again within 6 months without daily maintenance.

What's the safest junk file remover to use?

Would CCleaner suffice for Junk Files and registry or you got something better than that?

And Malwarebytes for Malware?

I’ve got AVG PC Tuneup, which you can schedule or use manually. It seems to work OK.

For disk cleaning I use these two... love them both for a good thorough job.

1. Wise Disk Cleaner

https://www.wisecleaner.com/wise-disk-cleaner.html

2. Privacy Eraser

http://www.cybertronsoft.com/

For the registry...

For adware/malware I use Malwarebytes...

NB: Needless to say that one should always pay attention to installation options and then go set program options after the install with every new program installed.

Tip: Disabling background auto updates is strongly recommended for all software or your memory and processor will be congested with TSR utilities trying to update all the time.

Btw, I never use "anti-virus" programs... never needed them.

Do you use a paid version of Matwarebytes Get Real?

What’s wrong with the inbuilt disc cleaner?

No, I keep an older version on a USB stick which I can use for free by cancelling the "download the paid version" each time.

I sensed Malwarebytes was gonna start getting strict a couple of years ago so I saved the old version thank God.

Malware definition files still update just fine.

Err... more cumbersome? Not enough detail... dunno... the two I listed above are too cool to ignore.

What are your thoughts on CCleaner?

Have you used it? Will the other 2 do better?

Yes I know it… there’s no comparison between it and what I use/reccomend.
