The base, which was established in September 2013 and closed in August 2017, was located on the island of Cyprus and hosted five helicopters and approximately 40 government contractors at a cost of about $20 million per year, according to a recent report from the State Department Office of the Inspector General (OIG).

the question is not where but what were they doing in it. if it was the reason they gave why keep it a secret. it must have been used for extreordinary rendition. god only know where they took them from and where to never mind what they did to them.

It was close to the illegal airport in occupied Cyprus, I saw a map of it, not gonna say where, which showed American bases in the region, I naturally focused on Cyprus, and it had a straight line to Syria, meaning if needed it would project its power from Lefkoniko to Syria. Now that the US has bases in Syria why the need for an illegal base in Cyprus?..

It was an "open secret" that the U.S. had a base close to Tymbou. Strangely enough I was thinking about this a week or so ago. Stranger still when i tried to research this using "google" I drew a blank.
I would say you're pretty much on the button with this.

Oh FFS!

They had a hanger at RAF Akrotiri with some Sikorsky S-61s...

It was hardly a secret, I used to drive into the hanger every week and they flew daily around the perimeter of the SBA.

According to the Wiki these are “oil rig support helicopters” so any chances these belong to ExxonMobil?

You know block 10 licensees and I don't know which other...
