What about diving??

I am not an expert in diving.

I am a diver. A PADI advance diver and I know that a 90 year old many will not be able to dive at 42m for 44 minutes.

He would if he used nitrox

Okay, now you are claiming that ITV (the BBC's commercially funded rival) stole the BBC article along with headline and content and the BBC did nothing about it...? :?

Okay!

Why didn't all the other media not pick it up.

Yes the ITV could have aggregated from the BBC.

And you might be correct. But what is obvious is that the BBC interviewed the Commissioner! Get it?

Look Richard, I got that wrong. I told you I was an amateur diver, which means I know a bit but I don't know it all. There are things I have a basic knowledge of.

However, I do know enough to pass judgement on the CM article which was incorrect to claim that a 90 year old dived at 42 m for 44 metres.

If they didn't copy and paste the bulk of the article how come every other news outlet had the same article...?

And if they were willing to copy and paste an article which is demonstrably incorrect how can you have any confidence whatsoever that the BBC spoke to anybody...?

And remember, this is not just one article... there are hundreds of examples of this. So called news outlets copying and pasting press releases from campaign groups...

Only one so far. That was ITV. Who else picked it up?

News outlets regularly agregate news. For example, if an article is published on News.com, it also appears in about 100 other news outlets as it is aggregated. Reuters and DW do the same.
